Summer at Bryan Manor

Once again residents are enjoying time outdoors. They are expanding their interests to include:

  • Bird watching
  • Garden planting
  • Fireside cocktails
  • Therapy pet visits
  • Treasure hunts
  • Outdoor dining menu planning and enjoyment
  • Arts & Crafts

Welcome to Bryan Manor, a small (34) Residential Care facility that my husband, Mike and I have owned and administered for more than 20 years.

Bryan Manor gives our residents care, love, dignity and respect in a charming home nestled in a quiet country setting.  We are proud to offer the highest level of personal care at the most affordable rates in the area.  We are a fraction of the cost of nursing homes and assisted living places.  Bryan Manor is not intimidating; it feels like home.  Your loved one becomes part of our family in no time.  They enjoy their cozy rooms and really sparkle sharing good times with new friends in the living and dining rooms.

Testimonials
What are residents & families saying about us?

My mother in law lived there in her last few years and we would drop in anytime and the place was always clean and never smelled. This was one huge difference I noticed from other nursing homes. And more significantly, their staff are all excellent! They are kind and sweet and actually like working with old people. This is key for a successful placement

Dear Staff,

“You are the BEST!  Dad is so happy and you are the reason.  He feels better than he has in years and I thank you for all the big and little things you do for him.  Best wishes for a lovely Christmas.”

Dear Jean,

“You were so special to Mom in this last year of her life…my sisters and I always knew she was in good hands and in a happy environment…There are no words to express my appreciation of all you did.”

Couldn’t be happier with how well Bryan Manor staff and nurses have cared for my aunt. The place is small and homey. I think the care there is better quality than you can get from a larger more modern and expensive facility.

Notes on Aging with Something like Grace by Elizabeth Marshall Thomas
is a “must-read”

Elizabeth at 88 writes from a perspective of observing customs of early hunter-gatherers.  She has a long successful career.  Her latest book is light, charming, and profound.  It’s a memoir that helps us embrace our last years with grace, dignity, and a sense of adventure.  You will laugh out loud at her humor.  She says her next book will focus on the use of commas. We are preparing for the best garden ever by exploring YouTube lessons, creating a plan, and cultivating a “world acclaimed” garden of flowers, vegetables, berries, and herbs.

Happiness in our older years = self-acceptance, living in the present, not taking life for granted, understanding you can’t please everyone, and WISDOM.

Maintaining Happiness in our later years means keeping a routine, controlling sleep, exercising, eating well, socializing, and creativity
